The Chief of  Village, Mr Tangara, donate a piece of land to the West Africa Foundation to build school and health care center for the Children. These children do not go to school because there is none, there is no health care center in the village and its surrounding villages. Our first project is going to be in Fintiguila, County of Macina.

THE HEALTH CARE CENTER AND ACTIVITIES PLAN IN THE COUNTY OF MACINA

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: Opening 5 new Community Health Centers for Fintiguila and surrounding villages: Kara, Tongue, Folomana, Koe

Vaccination 2 times a Week in the Community Centers

Organizing Educational and demostrational (like how to prevent diarrhea, dehydration, about how the dehydration solution works and how to make the water-salt-sugar solution ...) classes 6 times a year in these villages.

Organizing Educational classes about breast feeding and nutrition,  promoting potable water supplies in the villages once a year.

Educational classes to prevent malaria diseases: what causes it, symptoms, high temperature; 6 times a year.

Deacresing the incidencesof endemic diseases like leprous, tuberculosis, by taking charges of patients at the SAI, active search for better f/u treatment. Insuring medication supplies within health centers.

Educational classes against parasites by building 2 sanitary latrines and 2 wells for water away from latrines in the villages: Koe and Kara.

Educate these people about the HIV, AIDS disease, how to protect themselves and others, insuring testing supplies and condoms.

Promote a Social Economical development for the villages.

OPERATIONAL RESEARCH

*Training of a Mobil team for prevention and cure, *Study of the vaccine improvement in functional surfaces, *purchase of motorcycle, *update the number of handicap children, *update the number of senior citizens, study and follow up, *organizing semestrial meeting, *realizing about 9 culinary demostration classes every 3 months.

Realizing Social-Investigation Program to maintain these under project health care centers the best community health care centers.   

SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IN THE COUNTY OF MACINA

A) INTRODUCTION:

Macina is a very big county with a population 46000 people. It has only one school (with just 2 classrooms only) with no equipment. Parents understand the importance and interest of this center and the social economic development of the city also depends on it.

Ms Coulibaly Mafoune, on of the W.A.F. board members, has been contacted by both the school administrative authority and the parents. She responded positively to a lot of their needs in the past. She decided to search for financing and to build new schools for the children.

B) JUSTIFICATION:

Every one knows that school is very important for the social –economic development of a community. Nevertheless, we are going to give some of the advantages of school activities.

* Education

* Society Union

* Children’s alphabetization

* Children’s mental development, open mind...

* Children could help their parents, those who never got chance to go to school with legal documents or administration documents.

These communities need new schools. The old school they have is not what children need, the building is too old and there is no equipment at all. It looks more likely an simple place to keep kids with nothing interesting to do, no educational materials. It is so hopeless that parents do not see any different between home and that place; then they decide to keep their children at home, that could influenced some disadvantages in their future education.

In conclusion, these people know the advantages of the school district but if it is not equipped, they lose all interest to send their children to school, reason why this project needs to be done. In fact, it will also be a fun center, open mind, games, psycho-development center for the children.

C) PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Once we get all financing need, the first step will be the construction of schools, second step will be to furnish school with materials, games, most common school equipments and the third step will be hiring teachers. Then all precautions will be taken to improve school educational conditions.

*General Objectives, the main objective of this project is the contribution of the population to reenforce psycho-development of the county children.

*Specific Objectives, to increase the percentage of children who go to school: from 11% to 25 %. On 594 children, only 70 go to school which is really below the normal.

To give the school at least the minimum materials as swing, Books, educational album, papers, pencils, erasers, puzzles, balls, dolls, etc...

To build toilet, walls to surround the school yard, to provide filtered water sources like faucets.

D) EXPECTING RESULTS:

*Increase the amount of children attending school *Equipments and materials for the children

*Regain school interest for the children

Then West Africa Foundation will do the follow up with schools administration authorities.

E) ESTIMATE COST:

Designation amount is about $100,000.00
